Dear Party Organizers, yesterday we spoke with Vice Rector Werner Skvara E-Mail and he said he had not heard about our plan yet, but that he thinks it should not be a problem. I tried to reach Nina Pohl on the phone today but did not get through - will try again tomorrow. Things that still need doing: We should now send an e-mail to Nina Pohl (n.pohl(a)akbild.ac.at / + 43 (1) 58816 - 1101 ) and CC to Werner Skvara (w.skvara(a)akbild.ac.at / + 43 (1) 58816 - 1100, 5117) and Thomas Gruber from GTB (t.gruber(a)akbild.ac.at / + 43 (1) 58816 - 1800) with all the necessary information. E-Mail We need one person who is legally “responsible” for the party - if necessary I could do that. This person needs to sign a document (“Besicherung”) with the GTB (Bebäudetechnik) - the head of which is Thomas Gruber. We need to tell the GTB about the time (e.g. 20:00 - 00:00) and the amount of people we expect. Roughly we need 1 security per 100 persons. Thus I would suggest we say we expect no more than 150 people & organize 1 professional security + 2 of ours. Das Programm findet im Zeitraum Herbst 2023 bis Herbst 2024 statt. Drei Künstler*innen werden eingeladen, mit ihren eingereichten Projekten teilzunehmen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der individuellen dramaturgischen Beratung und richtet sich nach dem Bedarf des Projekts. Die dramaturgische Beratung kann für verschiedene Anliegen genutzt werden (z.B. Drehbuch, Montage, dokumentarischer Dreh,...) und die Beratungstermine können innerhalb des Programmzeitraums frei gewählt werden. Die Wahl der Dramaturg*innen erfolgt in Absprache zwischen Organisator*innen und Lab-Teilnehmer*innen. Zusätzlich wird den Teilnehmer*innen die Möglichkeit geboten, vom Austausch und den Synergien der Lab-Gruppe sowie der Anbindung an die GPC zu profitieren. Das Lab möchte ein produktives, künstlerisch-soziales Umfeld für die Umsetzung der Filmprojekte schaffen. In einer Abschlusspräsentation wird den Projekten eine Plattform zur Sichtbarmachung und Diskursivierung angeboten (z.B. Werkstattgespräch oder Präsentation der fertiggestellten künstlerischen Arbeit). Unter den Einreichungen werden drei Projekte zur Teilnahme am Lab von einer externen Jury ausgewählt. Der Call richtet sich an Künstler*innen, die vom Angebot profitieren und das Lab projektbegleitend und kostenfrei nutzen möchten. The Golden Pixel Cooperative (GPC) ist ein Verein für Bewegtbild, Kunst und Medien, der sowohl im Ausstellungs- als auch im Kinokontext tätig ist. Er wurde aus dem Bedürfnis heraus gegründet, in einer vorwiegend individualistischen Kulturlandschaft kollektiv zu agieren. Mit einer kritischen, feministischen und anti-diskriminatorischen Haltung arbeiten wir an der Produktion, Distribution und Präsentation von künstlerischen Arbeiten und Diskursen. Wir setzen uns ein für Solidarität und Empowerment, indem wir Austausch und Unterstützung zwischen Künstler*innen, Kulturarbeiter*innen, Vermittler*innen und Denker*innen ermöglichen. The programme will take place between late 2023 and late 2024. Three artists will be invited to participate with their submitted projects. PROGRAMME The GPC Lab offers a framework for the production of film, video and moving image works in different phases of production. The focus is on individual dramaturgical advice and is defined according to the needs of the project. The dramaturgical advice can be focussed on various concerns (e.g. script writing, editing, documentary filming,...) and the consultation dates can be freely chosen within the programme period. The choice of dramaturg is made in consultation between the organisers and the Lab participants. In addition, participants are offered the opportunity to benefit from the exchange and synergies of the Lab group and the connection with the GPC. The Lab aims to create a productive, artistic-social environment for the realisation of the film projects. In a final presentation, the projects will be offered a platform for visibility and discourse (such as a workshop format or the presentation of the finished artistic work). An external jury will select three projects from the submissions to participate in the Lab. The open call is aimed at artists who would benefit from the programme and would appreciate the Lab accompanying their projects, free of charge. The Golden Pixel Cooperative (GPC) is an association for moving images, arts and media, active within both exhibition and cinema contexts. It was founded from the need to act collectively in a predominantly individual cultural landscape. With a critical, feminist and antidiscriminatory approach, we work on the production, distribution, and presentation of artworks and discourses. We foster empowerment and solidarity by enabling exchange and support between artists, cultural workers, educators and thinkers. Collectively, we work on projects that have various formats such as screenings, exhibitions, symposia and publications. APPLICATION Please send the application as a PDF in English! The project itself can be in German or English. Applications should include: * Artistic CV with work samples * Description of the project (content, project status, plan for implementation, etc.; max. 3 pages) * Motivation for participation in the GPC Lab (approx. 1/2 page) * If possible, suggestions for the dramaturg who you would like to work with.
