We will continue to talk about our plans for the tour in the Jour Fix.
First of all, we are very happy that many of you liked the idea of doing the tour differently. And we are also pleased about the many ideas that have already been put forward. We'll list them here and hope that we don't mess up the rooms ...,)
((((((The first and in many respects necessary condition, which is unavoidable due to fire regulations, is that all rooms are emptied - that means: works of art, tables, walls, chairs - everything is emptied and rearranged. The clearing out begins on January 10.)))))))
Ideas
The material can be used to make a large Merzbau in a classroom. (google Merzbau...) This large construction also allows you to hang artworks in it, project them etc.
The material and your artworks can come together to a large Petersburg hanging and cover the entire large walls from top to bottom. (google Petersburg hanging)
Matea would like to create a room with black light and music in room 217. The room is to be set up like a black box in the middle of the room. She would like to do her performance on the 1st evening of the Rundgang. Then the room can be used by everyone for her performances / musik / readings etc.
Sarah is having a party in it on Saturday. The whole room 217 is considered NOT dark, the gallery and side walls can be used for other ideas.
She thought also about a large pudding, which is a symbol of art institutions that have become fragile.
Zillia thought about cosy corners where you can retreat and relax.
Did I forgot some ideas????
To all those who now think, oh, that's just collective stuff and my art has no place there, let me tell you. It's just the opposite. Your personal artistic work is in demand and should form a context for everyone else.
That's why the idea of neighbors curating neighbors was given special emphasis. Everyone looks for a person to curate them - perhaps they also write a few sentences about the curated work? All of this could go on a poster / leaflet that also makes the authorship of the individual works clear.
Don't be afraid of so many ideas: We'll be there starting January 11 to build and design the spaces with you. And we'll be making plans and talking on Wednesday. Please bring lots of new ideas for Wednesday and also pictures of the artworks you or others would like to exhibit.

Another idea (hence here at the end) concerned the design of the outside walls. There was the idea of making a timeline - from the Nakba to the present day and comparing it with other timelines from the countries you come from - embedding it in the world, so to speak. We discussed this idea back and forth. There are many pros and also many cons. I myself am happy to discuss it further.
