Sabine Priglinger (Center for Doctoral Studies)
Dear doctoral students,
for the ninth time, the academy offers the Lectureship Program for Doctoral Students in the framework of the Academy’s promotion of early-stage researchers. Doctoral candidates are supported in gaining basic knowledge and competencies needed for academic teaching. Moreover, the program contributes to the general career orientation of future researchers/university faculty. In addition to courses on didactics and practical teaching, the program offers the opportunity to gain teaching experience (co-teaching with the mentor followed by independent scientific teaching). Crucial for the success of the program is the collaboration of all involved (doctoral candidates, mentors, course instructors, heads of the curricula commissions, and heads of the institutes) regarding teaching assignments and the actual teaching, the courses offered as well as the integration of the doctoral candidates into the institutes.
This year the program participants again have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences during the co-teaching phase and present the plans for their independent scientific teaching in the upcoming summer semester. You are kindly invited to this presentation.
