Dear All, I hope you are all well, and enjoying snowy Vienna. I am looking forward to being there next week. Here is the plan: Monday 11th, room 117 we will have a reading group. I want all of us to have read the text and try to figure out the main point she is making, we will discuss this and then go back into any idea, terms, or concepts that are of interest, that are confusing or worthy of discussion. And we will finish this text. I thought it would be interesting to have you read a text I wrote for a show in 2020, if interested I will bring a copy so you can read in advance of our next reading group meeting. Tuesday 12th, room 117, we will have our class meeting, Reka is showing, I think Ana wanted to show? Can you confirm this. If anyone else wants to show please let me know as soon as... it will be first come first serve! In the evening of the 12th Lisa's band is playing a gig, it would be nice to go as a class, if you are free. Wednesday, you will be in the hearings. Thursday, I will be speaking at my hearing!!!! CALL FOR APPLICATION _ WISSENSCHAFTSBALL 2024

Liebe Alle, Die Klasse für gegenständliche Malerei hat dank Herrn Christoph Rodler einige Jahre die Gelegenheit gehabt, zum Wiener Ball der Wissenschaften einen Beitrag zu leisten und die Kulisse zu dieser Veranstaltung mit einer Wandmalerei zu gestalten. Auch im kommenden Jahr, wird am 27 Januar ein Ball der Wissenschaften stattfinden. Auch dieses Jahr haben wir Möglichkeit an der Gestaltung der Wiener Wissenschaftsball mitzuwirken. Diesmal können wir wieder die Volkshalle bespielen, was bedeutet, dass uns eine Fläche von ca 36x4,5m (siehe Grafik in der Anlage) zur Verfügung steht. Die genauen Flächenangaben folgen noch. Leitmotiv des Balls ist diesmal der Klimawandel; als Anregung hänge ich den Entwurf des diesjährigen Posters an. Herr Christoph Rodler und ich werden dieses Projekt begleiten und sind auf der Suche nach: eine Gruppe von Studierenden, (2 bis zu maximal 4 Leuten), die bereit sind im Laufe der Zeit vom 11 bis 22 Dezember (ACHTUNG_DIESER ZEITRAUM KANN SICH NOCH ÄNDERN! DIE ENDGÜLTIGE BESTÄTIGUNG ERHALTEN WIR INNERHALB ZWEI TAGEN_DANN GEBE ICH NATÜRLICH NOCH BESCHEID) im Mehrzweckssaal, Semperdepot /Lehargasse 8/ diese Molton Textilstücke mit einem Motiv zu bemalen. Zur Kenntnis: Molton ist ein Schwarzer Stoff. Daher kann die Malerei ausschließlich mit weißer und black-light Farben (die im Dunkel leuchten) ausgeführt werden. (Siehe Bilder und Video) Bei Interesse bildet bitte eine Gruppe von 2 bis zu maximal 4 Leuten und gibt eine Skizze (in Schwarz-weiß) für die Wand/Wände/ des Wissenschaftsballs bei mir ab. Wir werden die Skizzen den Veranstaltern zur Auswahl übermitteln. Die Belohnung für das gesamte Arbeit beträgt insgesamt 1700 Euro. Leider gibt es für die Abgelehnte Skizzen kein Honorar. Our class would create a painterly background for this high-profile event in the form of a mural-like Painting on Molton fabrics. 27 January 2024, another Ball of Sciences will take place. And we again have the opportunity to participate in designing the backdrop of the Vienna Science Ball. As last year, we can decorate the Volkshalle again, which means that we have an area of approx. 36x4.5m (see graphic in the attachment) at our disposal. The exact area details will follow. The leitmotif of the ball this time is climate change; I am attaching the draft of this year's poster as a suggestion. Mr. Christoph Rodler and I will accompany this project and are looking for: a group of students (2 maximum of 4 people) who will deliver a sketch for a wall painting Please note that Molton is a black fabric, so the painting can be executed with white and black-light colours. Therefore sketch must be done in black and white. The time for Execution of the wall painting is 12-22 December (ATTENTION_THIS PERIOD MAY CHANGE! Dear All, I will be coming over next week, 13th-17th. On Tuesday 14th (starting at 12-13:30hr) we will do our reading group, and get started with the text properly. I am hoping it will take place in room 117, like last time. I am just awaiting confirmation. I have Cc'd in Karolina Svärd and Viktoria Zajec, who are invited to join the class meeting as guests, if either of you can't make please let me know. See below for the information about where and when. On Wednesday 15th (12-18hr) we will have our class meeting, in room 117. So far Lisa and Sacha will be showing work. We need two others to show, please email myself and Nino if you want to show. It will be first come first serve. Friday I will be at Sperl at 7.30am if any one wants to join for a coffee and chat.
