Dear all,
It has been decided that we will be using all three of the studio rooms for the Rundgang show.
I am wanting the preparation of the rooms to be more self-directed (student led) this year, Nino and I do not want to over see all details, like last year!
But here is an overview of what will need to be done.
The plan is to have the rooms emptied by the end of Monday15th.
I suggest that the students prepare the rooms that they work in, get together as a group and make a plan.
If you do not have a studio in the building, or work in another class, I still expect you to take part in the preparation of the rooms. It is unfair to expect to exhibit but do none of the work!
When you have made a plan for the clearing of the studio rooms, and for example you need boxes to store belongings, I suggest you go buy what the room needs and bring the receipts to Nino and she will pay you back from the class money.
I am giving up my office for the storage of the wall and other studio furniture. I have spoken to Edi and we are going to pack the office up on Monday morning, it will be available to fill up in an organised manner by mid-day on Monday.
There are other jobs that need to be done.
1: poster (Abigail has kindly volunteered, but be kind and check in to see if she needs any help!)
2: Bar: we need a team to plan and organise a bar, there were a few volunteers for this job, including Yannick. I suggest we use the entrance into my office for the bar like last year. There is a little over 1000. euros that was put away from last years earnings. Some of this can be used to stock the bar.
3: a printed guide so people know who's painting is who's.
Let's have fun doing this, let's make it memorable for all including the students who will be taking part in their first Rundgang, and those who it will be their last!
We will meet 10 am on Tuesday morning to start hanging the work. Have a selection of works available and we will go through it together at this time.
Wednesday we will finish the hang and get the bar set up.
I think it would be good to plan to start each day at 10am, and we can have a post work day drink and debriefing meeting. We should plan this meeting for 7pm.
Of course Nino and I are around, and will help and advise but I really want the pre-hang organisation to be student led, I would be very happy to be given jobs by you instead of the other way around.
I look forward to the Rundgang and run up to it!
All the best,
Alastair
