Dear all - hi! Nice to e-meet everybody. I'm looking forward to meeting in person in a month in Vienna. since I wear two hats at the same time - I'd be happy to lead a workshop for your students or faculty. I'm an Illustrator and a book artist. I have a small independent publishing house for visual books and I am a professor for Illustration at Bezalel, I teach Visual Storytelling & Book Rethinking. My other hat is Pedagogy. For the last 4 years I've been the Head of the Bezalel Teaching Center. The BTC is a cross departmental unit that promotes, develops and articulates innovative pedagogies and teaching methods for art & Design. In this capacity I also have much experience in DEI, Curricula design, Feedback, Assessment and more. If you are interested, I'll be happy to share my knowledge and experience.
Here are two options for a workshop. I have done them several times for both undergraduate and graduate students. The subject matter of the workshop is -Visual Storytelling It is for students who are interested in sharpening their ability to construct meaning through images.
Option 1:In this workshop we will play the game of the Surrealists - Exquisite Corps. Each student will create a meaningful visual story from 5 random words we will pick together. Duration: 3 hours max. 8-15 students who know how to draw/illustrate/create an image- analogue or digital it doesn't matter. Materials: A3 pack of white paper, drawing/painting/illustrating tools and materials brought by the students.
