Ihre am IKA verfasste Dissertation "bodies, objects, spaces – Exploring Multisensory Spatial Perception through Extended Reality Models" untersucht mit einer kritischen feministischen, designbasierten Perspektive die Auswirkungen von Extended Reality-Technologien auf multisensorische Raumwahrnehmungen.

Der Würdigungspreis der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien geht an Sophia Rohwetter (Master in Critical Studies) für ihre Masterarbeit "Tears of A Clown. Formen des Tragischen und des Komischen im Werk von Mike Kelley" (IKW). Die Masterarbeit betrachtet in einer psychoanalytischen Perspektivierung die Formen des Tragischen und des Komischen im Werk des US-amerikanischen Künstlers Mike Kelley (1954–2012), mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der Werkserie Half a Man (1987–1991). Emma Hummerhielm Carlén | UNIQA Kunstpreis 2024
Die Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien vergibt erstmals in Kooperation mit UNIQA den UNIQA Kunstpreis, der mit 15.000 Euro dotiert ist. Damit zählt er zu den höchstdotierten Nachwuchsförderpreisen in Österreich. Der Preis geht an Emma Hummerhielm Carlén, eine Bildhauerin, die Räume äußerst differenziert auszuloten vermag und die Jurymitglieder durch ihre formal präzisen, minimalen und kraftvollen Werke überzeugt hat. Die Ausstellung der Preisträgerin wird im Februar 2025 im Foyer des UNIQA Tower in Wien eröffnet.

Die Ausstellung Generator #2: Paula Strunden. Infra-thin Magick ist noch bis 15.9.2024 zu sehen, für die immersiven Sessions ist am besten vorab ein Timeslot zu reservieren.

Emma Hummerhielm Carlén | UNIQA Art Prize 2024
In cooperation with UNIQA, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is awarding the UNIQA Art Prize, which is endowed with €15,000, for the first time. This makes it one of the most highly endowed prizes for young artists in Austria. It goes to Emma Hummerhielm Carlén, a sculptor who is able to explore spaces in an extremely differentiated way and who convinced the jury members with her formally precise, minimal and powerful works. The prize winner's exhibition will open in February 2025 in the foyer of the UNIQA Tower in Vienna.
