im Namen des Beirats von Akademie | Kunst | Öffentlichkeit lade ich sie/euch herzlich zur zweiten Veranstaltung unserer Eventreihe
Platz nehmen zur öffentlichen Debattenkultur am Schillerplatz
ein!
Protestkultur, Aktionen im öffentlichen Raum, „taking the streets“ um eine Botschaft kundzutun, haben im öffentlichen Bewusstsein im 21. Jahrhundert einen großen Platz eingenommen. Welche Ambitionen
verfolgen solche Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum und welchen Effekt wollen und können sie erzielen? Gibt es einen Wiener Kontext, in dem sich künstlerischer Aktivismus abspielt? Wie ist dieser im Vergleich zu anderen Städten einzuordnen? Wie manifestiert
und konstituiert sich eine politisch aktive Gesellschaft im öffentlichen Raum und welche architektonisch-urbane Maßnahmen und Settings können zum nachhaltigen offenen Diskurs in einer Stadt wie Wien beitragen? In der zweiten Veranstaltung der Eventreihe
Platz nehmen vor der Akademie am Schillerplatz, diesmal konzipiert und gestaltet von einer Studierendengruppe des Instituts für Kunst und Architektur, wird ein Parlament als architektonische Intervention in und mit der Öffentlichkeit installiert, um
Fragen zu Kunst im öffentlichen Raum im freien Austausch zwischen geladenen Gesprächspartner_innen, Teilnehmer_innen und dem Publikum zu erörtern.
Die Architekturstudierenden sind besonders an der Schnittstelle zwischen Stadt und Verwaltung und den Möglichkeiten, durch Eingriffe in den urbanen Raum Diskurse zu gestalten, interessiert, was sie mit dem
Parliament of Delicacies an Ort und Stelle erproben wollen. Als Kern- und Steuerungselement zur Diskursführung wird die Vergabe von kleinen, delikaten Häppchen zischen den Programmbeiträgen eine kulinarische Leitlinie erzeugen. Ergänzt wird das in sich
verändernden Settings ausgetragene Event am Schillerplatz durch eine raumgreifende künstlerische Performance von Luiza Furtado, Studierende IBK, und Tänzer_innen. Aktion und Gespräch zu vereinen, ist Gegenstand und Ziel der Veranstaltung.

on behalf of the advisory board of Academy | Art | Public Sphere I cordially invite you all to the second event of the event series
Platz nehmen on the culture of public debate at Schillerplatz!
Protest culture, actions in public space, "taking the streets" to make a message known have taken a large place in the public consciousness in the 21st century. What are the ambitions
of such interventions in public space and what effect do they want to and can they achieve? Is there a Viennese context in which artistic activism takes place? How does this compare to other cities? How does a politically active society manifest and constitute
itself in public space and which architectural-urban measures and settings can contribute to a sustainable open discourse in a city like Vienna? In the second event of the event series
Platz nehmen in front of the Academy at Schillerplatz, this time conceived and designed by a group of students from the Institute for Art and Architecture, a parliament will be installed as an architectural intervention in and with the public in order
to discuss questions about art in public space in a free exchange between invited discussion partners, participants and the audience.
The architecture students are particularly interested in the interface between city and administration and the possibilities of shaping discourse through interventions in urban space,
which they want to test on site with the Parliament of Delicacies. As a core and steering element between the program contributions, the distribution of small, delicious snacks is intended to create a culinary guideline for guiding the discourse. The
event at Schillerplatz, which will take place in changing settings, will be complemented by an expansive artistic performance by Luiza Furtado, student IBK, together with dancers. The aim of the event is to combine action and conversation.
