Künstlerische Forschung (in der/als) Schöpfung

Kunst verbindet, engagiert sich und operiert in einer anderen Zeit, einem anderen Raum, einem anderen Terrain und einer anderen Sphäre jenseits des etablierten Wissenssystems. Diese diskursive Natur der Kunst erfordert ihre eigene Fusion von gemischten Disziplinen. In meinem Vortrag werde ich meine künstlerischen Forschungsprojekte zu den Themen mobiles digitales Netzwerk, Messung und Ökologie vorstellen, die auf der Methodologie des Kuratorischen basieren. Die kuratorische Praxis umfasst die Fähigkeit, die Welt zu verarbeiten und Worte zurück zu verarbeiten (rückwärts). Die Methodik ermöglicht es uns, die klassische Konzeptualisierung von Ideen, die Ordnung des Denkens und die Art und Weise, wie die Welt kontextualisiert wird, grundlegend zu hinterfragen. Diesem Gedankengang folgend werde ich die These aufstellen, dass das Kuratorische im besten Fall als „Forschung (in) der Schöpfung“ verstanden wird - ein künstlerisches Medium und eine Methode der (Neu-) Suche, Rahmung, Schaffung und Generierung von Formen und diskursivem Wissen, um unsere Beziehung zur Welt zu gestalten und zu formen. 

Wer ist Miya Yoshida?

Ich bin eine Kuratorin, Dozentin und Kulturschaffende, die in Berlin lebt und arbeitet. Ursprünglich komme ich aus Kyoto, Japan. Da ich an einem Ort mit einer eher konservativen Kultur aufgewachsen bin und von klein auf mit den Ideologien des Kommunismus in Berührung kam, interessierte ich mich für Widersprüche und Mehrdeutigkeit aus feministischer Perspektive. Die Kunst hat mich von diesem restriktiven Denken befreit. Das hält bis heute an. Ich versuche immer noch, offene Fragen zu stellen und durch Kunst fantasievolle Räume zu schaffen.

Artistic research (in/as) creation

Art connects, engages and operates in another time, another space, another terrain and another sphere beyond the established knowledge system. This discursive nature of art requires its own fusion of mixed disciplines. In my talk, I will present my artistic research projects on mobile digital network, measurement and ecology based on the methodology of the curatorial. Curatorial practice involves the ability to process the world and process words back (backwards). The methodology allows us to fundamentally question the classical conceptualization of ideas, the order of thinking and the way the world is contextualized. Following this line of thought, I will argue that the curatorial at its best is understood as “research (in) creation” - an artistic medium and method of (re)searching, framing, creating and generating forms and discursive knowledge to shape and form our relationship to the world. 

Who is Miya Yoshida?

I am a curator, lecturer and cultural practitioner who lives and works in Berlin. I am originally from Kyoto, Japan. Growing up in a place with a rather conservative culture and being exposed to the ideologies of communism from an early age, I was interested in contradictions and ambiguity from a feminist perspective. Art liberated me from this restrictive thinking. That continues to this day. I still try to ask open questions and create imaginative spaces through art.
