Nur noch wenige Tage bietet der karitative Bücherbasar der Akademiebibliothek die Gelegenheit, einen Buchkauf mit einer Spende zu verbinden. Das reichhaltige Angebot an Theoriebänden, Ausstellungskatalogen, Fachzeitschriften und anderen Medien aus allen Bereichen der Kunst, Architektur und Kunsttheorie, wurde von Einrichtungen, Sammlungen und Mitarbeiter_innen des Hauses sowie den Benützer_innen der Universitätsbibliothek zur Verfügung gestellt.

Ihre Spenden kommen dem 1995 gegründeten Verein Hemayat zugute, der sich in Wien als Zentrum für dolmetschgestützte traumatherapeutische Betreuung und Behandlung von Folter- und Kriegsüberlebenden etabliert hat.
Die Betreuung bei Hemayat ist für alle Klient_innen, die über Zuweisung von Sozialeinrichtungen oder durch Mundpropaganda den Weg in den Verein finden, kostenfrei. Im Jahr 2022 wurden 1441 Menschen aus 56 Ländern betreut.
Zur Finanzierung des umfangreichen therapeutischen Konzeptes, darunter Community Interpreting sowie Sport und Bewegungstherapie, ist Hemayat auf die Unterstützung vieler Institutionen und auf ihre Spenden angewiesen.
Wir unterstützen Menschen, die schreckliches Leid erlebt haben. Wir helfen, mit den Folgen des Schreckens leben zu lernen. Wir begleiten auf dem Weg durch die Trauer. Wir suchen gemeinsam mit unseren KlientInnen einen Weg in eine neue Zukunft. Wir bieten Hilfe, die Integration in unserem Land möglich macht. (http://www.hemayat.org/, 14.12.2023)
